Visit the authentic mountain village of Materuni. The village is located in the rainforest at the base of Kilimanjaro where the Chagga people live. The Chagga are the original inhabitants of the Kilimanjaro region. During this excursion you will take a beautiful walk through the rainforest to the 95-meter high Materuni Falls and learn more about life in the countryside. Following this hike you will make freshly roasted coffee in the authentic way during the coffee tour. All under the guidance of a friendly local guide.

Practical
Available daily, this excursion is a convivial walk suitable for all ages. This is an activity with your own tour group and local guide.
The hike (return) takes about 2 hours. Due to the high humidity and damp clay soil, we recommend good walking shoes.
Note: If there is too much precipitation, the hike will be canceled due to slippery paths.
