Anyone going to Tanzania will naturally visit one or more of the fantastic national parks. The most famous of all is Serengeti National Park, home to the annual Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra. There are many more parks and each has its own character and animal population. Below is a brief overview and description of all the national parks.
Ngorongoro Crater
During your trip through Tanzania, a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater really should not be missed. Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is one of the most important game reserves and is located in northern Tanzania. The park is just a 2.5-hour drive from Arusha, the city that for many travelers is the starting point of safari in the northern circuit of Tanzania.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti national park is located in northern Tanzania and borders Kenya. The park covers an area of 14,750 square kilometers. It is one of the oldest ecosystems in the world. The park is known for its vast savannas, lush grasslands, forests and rock formations “masai kopjes.
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park lies between impressive rock formations of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. The scenery and the special animals that live near Lake Manyara make the park special. From waterfalls to hot springs and tree climbing lions.
