SAFARI WITH AN EYE FOR THE LOCAL POPULATION
There are various safari options. Our ‘Meet the locals’ is structured in such a way that you meet the local population during the safari and become part of their daily routine. Walking at the foot of Kilimanjaro and visiting the Materuni waterfalls where the Chagga tribe lives in the rainforest. Here you will get to know the coffee farmers and the way in which coffee is roasted in an authentic way. You will also visit banana plantations. To West Kilimanjaro where you will get a cultural immersion with the Maasai. On the way to the Serengeti a nice meeting with the Makondé tribe who will be happy to teach you everything about woodworking or the Hadzabe at Lake Eyasi where you will get to know the traditional way of hunting. The focus of this trip is on community-based tourism. This means that the local population is involved as much as possible. The accommodations and activities included in this trip contribute to the local economy and development of the living environment. With the income we donate to them from the trip you booked, they can supplement their (livestock) farming and improve education and health care.
