Visit to Maasai Boma
Visit an authentic Maasai village, also called a Maasai Boma. During this excursion you will be introduced to many different aspects of the ancient culture and daily life of the Maasai. You will learn about the history, food, customs, daily chores and other aspects of from life that are important for survival. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the Maasai women and they will sing traditional songs. A tour of the village then begins. The Maasai men will also perform “adumu,” the famous jumping dance, which is performed as proof of strength of the young men. This tour is not only a great way to get acquainted with the local people of Tanzania, but in doing so, you also contribute to a better future for the local community.

Practical
The Maasai like to show what life is like in a boma. They live with the herds in clay huts. A hut, which consists of a number of sleeping places, a fire pit with coals and a sitting area. Women live together with the children in one community, the men come and go and they take care of the herds of sheep, goats and cows. The women will display their handmade products after your visit. Bargaining is necessary!
