Bike tour Mto wa Mbu

Bike tour Mto wa Mbu

During this excursion you will take a bicycle tour of about 2.5 hours with a guide from our local partner ‘Light of Hope’. During the bicycle tour the guide will tell you all about life in the countryside. You cycle past rice fields, through banana and coffee plantations towards Lake Manyara. At the shores of the lake you will get explanations about the species of fish and the way they fish. Along the way it is possible that you will encounter baboons, zebras, wildebeests and flamingos. There is a stop at a wood workshop of the Makondรฉ tribe. The Makondรฉ fled Mozambique long ago and they are masters at woodworking. You will also stop at a local bar, where you can taste “mbege,” a traditional banana beer and wine. On the banana plantations, you will discover how the plant is fully utilized, from food to building material.
This tour is not only a great way to get to know the local people of Tanzania, but by doing so you also contribute to a better future for the local community. With the income from this bicycle tour, Light of Hope Organisation supports the local (orphan) children. Thanks to this support, the children, who have finished their elementary school, can continue their development.
