Karatu Simba Lodge
Karatu Simba Lodge is designed to provide a restful place to relax between active safari days. The cottages are tastefully and simply furnished with handmade furniture made of African hardwood. Each unit has a private terrace with safari chairs for relaxing and viewing the rural surroundings. You might see a troop of baboons in the barley fields or local “cowboys” herding their flocks. Fall asleep with the sounds of nature all around you.
The location in the fertile agricultural area of Karatu is an advantage when it comes to preparing meals. The produce comes directly from the surrounding farms, so they use the best and freshest ingredients in the kitchen. Continental dishes are served with occasional samples of local dishes. The well-trained chefs are ready to please and are always looking for new and innovative dishes to prepare.
Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge
Rhotia Valley is located at the top of a hill in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit in Rhotia, near Karatu. The tented safari houses offer intimate charm and a unique experience with breathtaking views of Ngorongoro forest, nearby villages and the terrace fields of local farmers.
The lodge is built in a traditional African style with indigenous hardwoods. The comfortable tented houses have private verandas with stunning views of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The tented rooms offer premium comfort with a king-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom with hot water and a mosquito net. Even though, due to the altitude, there are no mosquitoes.
Baghayo Garden Suites
The idea for Baghayo Garden Suites grew out of traditional Tanzanian hospitality. Comfortable accommodation, stunning views, attentive service and cuisine straight from the land all ensure that you have a unique experience. Each room is a suite, with a separate living room and bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Each room has a private veranda with a view.
The lodge is surrounded by lush gardens and located on an active coffee plantation. There are fruit trees, herb and vegetable gardens. The common area consists of the reception, a large lounge with bar and fireplace and a spacious dining room. There is a veranda with fantastic views where you can eat outside or relax with a cup of coffee. The large swimming pool is surrounded by green lawns with deck chairs and umbrella tables.
Marera Valley Lodge
Marera Valley Lodge, located on the outskirts of Karatu, is close to the village of Rhotia. This elegant lodge offers stunning views of the valley and the hills beyond. The rooms are designed to give you a comfortable rest after long days of safari. Rooms are in double cottages with private verandahs, fireplaces and spacious bathrooms.
The large main house features spacious seating areas overlooking the pool and beautiful hills. Enjoy an outdoor drink or lunch on the spacious veranda. In the cooler months, relax in the bar and lounge area by a cozy fireplace. The cottages are set in tropical gardens, and a walking path leads through the extensive organic vegetable garden.
The well-trained chefs take pride in creating a selection of tasty, healthy dishes, all made from local produce from their own gardens and from nearby farms and plantations.

Kankari Lodge Bungalow
Kankari Lodge is located on the outskirts of Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands. The lodge offers guests a choice of double cottages or luxury tents. All en suite rooms/tents have two single beds or one queen-size bed, a private veranda, a desk and a dressing area. All rooms have a fireplace and the spacious tents have a sitting area with a sofa and coffee table.
The bar and dining room are located in the main lodge building, overlooking the pool. A large outdoor terrace with two fireplaces offers both relaxed seating and alfresco dining. All food is fresh and locally sourced from the surrounding agricultural areas.
Farm of Dreams Lodge
Farm of Dreams Lodge features 48 independent cottages with private balconies and en suite bathrooms. Each room is designed so that guests have a view of the lodge’s beautiful gardens. Beds have soft, fine linens and bathrooms have soft, absorbent white towels, adding a romantic sense of charm and intimacy to the stylish decor.
The chefs will introduce you to the best of Tanzanian and international cuisine using the freshest, seasonal ingredients. The restaurant serves a la carte menus and buffets. Themed evenings are organized throughout the week, including barbecues and Swahili menus. Many of the vegetables come from their own “shamba” (kitchen garden).
