There are different interpretations of a safari possible. Our ‘Meet the locals’ is structured so that during the safari you meet the locals and briefly become part of their daily routine. Hike at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and visit Materuni Falls where the Chagga tribe lives in the rainforest. Here you will get to know the coffee farmers and how coffee is roasted authentically. You will also visit banana plantations. To West Kilimanjaro where you get a cultural immersion with the Maasai. On the way to the Serengeti you will meet the Makondé tribe who will teach you all about woodworking or the Hadzabe at Lake Eyasi where you will be introduced to the traditional way of hunting. The focus of this trip is community-based tourism. This means involving local people as much as possible. The accommodations and activities included in this trip contribute to the local economy and habitat development. With this income we donate to them from the trip you booked, they can supplement their (livestock) agriculture and improve education and health care.
